MTM XII: 9 down, 1 to go

Bobby: Trivia’s newest and most elegant major made her 1st appearance in Fulton County @ The Brewhouse Cafe with a robust gathering of nearly 110 participants.

This event is fats becoming a favorite among the triviaheads as evidenced by the early turnout and enthusiastic buzz that was palpable throughout the evening.

For the 2nd year in a row, Buckhead Rednecks (10) take the crystal home with a tidy 100
Fulmer’s Fat Ass (7) are a worthy 2nd with 94, and Earlliance (8) hang on for 3rd with 93.

Ray-Ray (10) – 60
United (7) – 59
BBvBoE (10) – 52
Muffins (12) – 51

The after party @ The Elder Tree Public House was a big success as 25 or so hardcore T’heads meandered south to check out our newest venue which debuts next Tuesday with @ TJ Alexander manning the microphone.
Local teams should mark that date down and help us get off to a solid start 4-9-13 at 8:00.

Thanks again for a fantastic event and we’ll see you championship weekend @ Brewhouse for the Pairs Game on Friday night April 19th and of course for Super Saturday, April 20th @ Jeffrey’s Sports Bar for the finals of March Trivia Madness XII.

————————————– Sunday —————————————–

Blind Pig –
Jason Aldean tickets and a packed house as two sets of the coveted tickets were delivered to Blind Pig/ FCT patrons.

Earlliance (7) field a limited squad TWO times & win twice. Are these guys peaking? Will they be named tournament favorites over the mighty United, even with an oven fresh Etta still cooling in the trophy case? 84 pts in a tough game says maybe.. Rash (7) seem to be raising their game of late as well, with yet another top 3 – 79, and Phasers have not sucked when we’re not watching GD Downton Abbey or whatever and leaving poor Matt to fend for himself 75

Also-
Jimmy Jams (8) 66
BBvBoE (3) 64
United (3) 56
Denim (3) 50
Kittens (6) 41

Matt Clutter got his tickets from FCT (see Triviaheads Page for pix), Coors Light girls gave away 30 or so T-Shirts and after party tickets – 18 teams.

Amici –
The noise you hear is the faint grinding of Cody O’Brien’s teeth as he reads that Earlliance (3) take another sneaky 1st after leapfrogging themselves out of BotR status after #19 – 89, Denim Chicken (Scott) has another BIG solo performance w/ 85 and two pitchers.. The guy is a MACHINE at times. And did I mention Rash (10) is warming up – 76

also – Jimmy Jams (6) -72
United 5 – 64
Kittens (7) 63
Sloots – 55
BBvBoE (3) 55
Downton Phasers (1) -1

Brent: Double congrats to Ray-Ray who posted the top TWO scores of the week, 110 and 109.  Well done!

As per my Monday routine, I’ve listed allotted seat totals next to each team.

Also, some have asked exactly how impossible a task BBvBOE has if they want to win the cumulative, and I’ve done the math… Each team has a possibility of 126 more base points and 126 more performance points.  So, if they got all 252, it’d give them 1367.  That puts Earlliance’s magic # at 142.  If Earlliance’s scored points + BBvBOE’s unscored points reaches 142, Earlliance wins the cumulative.

As we look down the scoreboard, here are final week matchups to keep an eye on:

  • Ray-Ray, United, and Muffins.  All will receive at least 12 chairs at this point, and Ray-Ray has a bit of a cushion at 16 that they’re unlikely to lose.  United edges Muffins by only 7 points, though, and that could easily be overtaken.
  • #9 vs. Robot Monkeys.  #9, now with 10 chairs, leads Monkeys, with 8 chairs, by only 10 points.  Of course, #9 will travel…
  • Rash, Old Yeller, Kitten Mittens, Chipper’s Lipper, Kramerica, Experience, and Migrating Coconuts.  7 teams, with only 30 points separating 1st from last in the group. 5 will likely wind up with 6 chairs.  The bottom 2 will wind up with 5.   Right now #5, Kramerica, leads Experience for the 6th chair by a skinny little point.  Stay tuned for a fun final week.

Good luck, everyone!
