MTM XII: Week 9, Monday/Tuesday

Brent: First things first, congratulations to Matt Clutter of Kitten Mittens and Aislinn Dalton of Ray-Ray’s Partay – they each won 2 tickets to the Jason Aldean concert on April 13, courtesy of Full Contact Trivia.  It was the easiest contest either has ever won, requiring just two clicks on Facebook.  Like us on Facebook, win stuff.  See how it works?

Bobby: Treehouse was bonkers tonight.. go check out the Triviaheads page for pictures..
I did a rough head count and came up with 73 – CONSERVATIVELY. Imagine 73 people in your bedroom and closet.. yeah, like that! Anyone that has been there does not believe that there were 73 people in that place – and they’re right, about 20 of them were on the sidewalk and in the parking lot…

2nd week in a row with 10 teams – so roughly half the room was playing and I was keeping as many of the non-players involved as possible.. My forecast for this joint’s future has shifted dramatically in two weeks – Giggity!

Muffins (6) ftw w/ 102 followed by a scrappy & underrepresented BBvBoE (3) 91, & B’Head R’necks (3) 90.

Oedipus (4) play like shit on the bonus questions and limp home with 48 ..

—————————————————————————————

Jeffrey’s v2.0 debuted in lovely Braselton with 16 (!) teams, perhaps a record for a debut show of any kind in almost 16 (!) years of Full Contact Trivia..

In the end, BBvBoE (4) hammer out an efficient 104 ftw, followed by Stalker Free (featuring the Lovely Britt Lahr & the erstwhile Jimmy McGuigan) – 94 and Earlliance (1) – 81

Also-

Maroons (3) – 68
#9 (4) – 57
Pabst (5) – 55
United (1) – 41
Phasers (2) – 35

Good to see old friends Questionable Answers in the room along with Superios playing with ‘Kevin Ware has a Boner’.

Great debut and the restaurant seems vastly improved from almost every perspective… Food was great, service good, management was proactive and competent.. A+++ night all around. Thanks

Brent: The first two Canton nights of week 9 have produced similar results – Ray-Ray smacking around the entire house…  110 on Monday, 109 Tuesday for the two highest scores of the week so far.  Impressive.  Challenged (74) and Coconuts (67) cash in performance pts Monday, while KGB (96) roadblocks tourney teams and Ramrod (94) collects 3rd on Tuesday.  Ramrod reiterates that they like games I write…  Coconuts add a base of 83 last night and Chipper’s Lipper posts 70, and that’s all to report from Canton this week.

Darby: Wild night at the Monkey Barrel. When the dust settled Denim Chicken (8) defeats Pabst Playboys (2) in OT after posting 93. Hairy Situation snipes 3rd (3) with 83. #9 (6) 73. Dumbasses (4) 82.

Brent: One final note: with Chris Jervis’ solo performance in Braselton last night, Earlliance breaks the *modern* cumulative record for total points – previously held by United at 1166.  Bobby Brown is a cinch to eclipse that mark as well, with Ray-Ray and maybe Muffins to follow.  Congrats to all on a high-scoring tournament!
