1st order of business – if you are on Facebook and haven’t “liked” Full Contact Trivia, do so right now.
2nd order of business – most teams have (private) team pages on FB. It’s an easy way for someone to post, “Hey, I was thinking about going on X night, anyone else want to come?” Also, if you add your FCT host to the group, it’s an easy way for him to get in touch with the team in a pinch. Sometimes there are last minute weather cancellations, for example. This would be an efficient way of relaying that information to you.
Now, on to the update!
Brent: At Taylor’s, the first real defensive slugfest of the tourney saw Ray-Ray prevail with a meager 64 (after a 2nd quarter that netted them a total of -5). Rural Jurors topple the 4 P’s in OT (61) to get the invite, and they quickly enter MTM XII. This is the Seoul Sisters squad from last year’s tourney, fwiw. #9 play an off-game (47), as do Challenged (48), Comfortably Dumb (50), and Coconuts (39). Dumb is currently the highest cumulative team not appearing in our scoreboard. Were they invited/qualified, they would rank 9th overall (though Monday rankings are misleading due to 80% of teams having not played yet) with 131 points. Special congrats to the Jurors, by the way – last year’s squad played what seemed like dozens of games trying to secure an invite. This year’s team did it in their second game. Well done!
Bobby: Treehouse came strong with the 2nd consecutive good crowd..
8 teams in this tiny venue is OK considering capacity is probably 10 give or take.
In the end, Oedipus get a needed win (7) 92, and Rednecks (6) duel Muffins (5) in OT and take 2nd – 64.
BBvBoE continue their uneven start (10) – 51 and BTS.c (8) post a 47.
