Athens (TJ): 22 teams pack the Blind Pig Wednesday with 9 tourney teams showing out. B8shaq(6), Beaver Feaver(5), United(5) Fact Hunt(11), Ears(8), Alliance(1), T2RB(4), Kitten Mittens(6), and Phasers(5) all have different goals for the cumulative and are running out of time to accomplish them…
The 1st quarter saw scores where you think they would be, United was perfect, B8shaq a field goal back and Ears one point behind them. Then, the second quarter happened.
B8shaq lost 5 points through the next five questions and couldn’t recover. The only team that didn’t suffer the tough quarter of trivia was Ears. At halftime the tournament board was quite spread out:
The third round music got a lot of teams back in the mix. These teams then decided to take a sucker answer on number 16 and throw away their 8 point bids. So, the top three stayed the same through the fourth quarter and most of the veteran teams did not screw up a very pedestrian final question. An odd game to watch from behind the booth. Entertaining and nauseating at the same time. Ears take 1st, United take 2nd, and T2RB take 3rd.
Little 5 Points (Bobby): Brewhouse was a madhouse, especially early on as Comcast was giving away a spot on the ‘Big Red Couch’ @ an upcoming Georgia game..
Once trivia settled in, we counted 15 teams, 8 of them in the tournament.
Buckhead Rednecks showed up with a strong 4-some and cruised to a 107 point win.
BBvBoE (10) take a very nice 2nd @ 102
Muffins (8) are a drumbeat of consistency with 96
FFA 88 (4)
Oedipus 79 (8)
Kramerica 75 (9)
P-Value 60 (4)
Gluttons 51 (6)
Buckhead Rednecks & Fulmer’s Fat Ass are in the field for the Etta this Friday @ Brewhouse in Avondale…
Carrollton (Bryan): No trivia in Carrollton tonight because Bryan decided to go see a new stadium, a new name, and a bunch of new players for the Marlins. Pretty much everything was new except the results…
Grayson (Darby): What was going to be a fun night of trivia turned to hell when a rainstorm blew through and the drunks came in and wouldn’t shut the hell up. Combine that with a guy wanting to talk to me all freaking night long (and he wasn’t even playing), and we trudged through. We might have just convinced Hail Mary’s to let me use my speaker.
At the end of the night #9 walked away with first and 84 points (4). Experience earned 2nd with 82 (6). A non tournament team earned 3rd. Alliance had 57 (2).
Experienced captured the evening with a great drawing of me.
Canton (Brent): As usual, a busy night – 13 teams, but only 4 were tourney teams – Ray-Ray, Red, Coconuts, and Challenged.
The Partay was on fire all night long, as a short-staffed Red Dead Samurai was the only team able to stay within 20 points of the lead beyond halftime. Ray-Ray brought a nearly full team, and no one else did. That’s why they were already guaranteed 1st after 19 questions, rolling into #20 with 93. They don’t do anything stupid, take the points, and take the win (91).
Red (60) was the only team that seemed to have an inkling on #20, but close didn’t cut it. It didn’t matter, as they were finishing 2nd no matter what, but a 90 would have been nice, and they were THIS close to getting it.
Teach 4 America (or not) swipes 3rd with 57…
Coconuts score 21, which is 177 lower than the amount of countries they think are in the European Union. It’s been a bad week for the Coconuts. Perhaps they can come through with something good on Friday…
Challenged (51) has a normal Challenged kind of night…
