Gainesville (Bobby): MoBar’s Tuesday renaissance continues thanks to the tournament and while it wasn’t as packed as last week, there was a healthy audience of participants for tonight’s game.
Exact same game as was used last night in Avondale produced noticeably smaller scores.
In the end, history was made as Chris Jervis of ‘Ears’ became the 7th ever solo winner of a FCT game 66 (1)
FMAF settle for 2nd with 65 (4) and Playboys limp home with a 3rd place 59 (7).
Playboys are kicking themselves for their lack of a music guy tonight – 0 for 8… Get ONE song right and they win – O-N-E!
Exp – 51 (5)
Phasers – 48 (4)
#9 – 43 (10)
three more teams are PiF for N@tM II. The full list can be seen under the ‘Events’ on the Triviaheads page. Of the 8 teams PiF, there are easily another 8 that have stated their intention to play.
Canton (Brent): Around 50 Triviaheads played at Bedoe’s on 11 teams, 7 of which were MTM contestants. The field included:
– Muffins, looking to improve on Monday’s score and pick up some performance points
– Migrating Coconuts, who have been playing well lately, particularly at Bedoe’s
– Red, who just last night found out that there’s an actual monetary prize for the cumulative
– Hazel Destroy, playing without their QB Darby
– Challenged… ah, what can I say about Challenged’s revolving door of team members that hasn’t already been said?
– Bobby Brown – road tripping, looking for performance pts and to block Muffins/Red from their own… and….
– Seoul Sisters, just looking to set the table for later in the week.
The game saw many of these teams jockeying for position in an up and down night for all… Early, it was Red, BBvBOE, and Muffins dominating. Halftime turned the game on its head and thrust Seoul Sisters into the lead while reviving the chances of an all-but-dead Shoal Bass (non-MTM, Tuesday regular). Round 3 went to the Muffins, who went 4/4 on a music bonus that no other team managed more than 2 on… The 4th quarter proved to be bizarre, as Muffins melted down over the span of 4 questions, scoring the least # of points in the entire room in the final frame, and the others all kept going back and forth on what was a very tight scoresheet. When the dust had settled after a very workable #20…
Seoul Sisters (92) complete a perfect 4th quarter and an impressive night overall to earn the victory. Shoal Bass, the non-MTM team that had 21 points going into halftime, finished 2nd with 91. Bobby Brown (85) defeated Red Dead Samurai (85) in OT for 3 performance points…
Muffins (54) peak on #15 and score -2 points in the 4th quarter… Coconuts (45) have an off-night with rough bonuses (and a chuckle-worthy Tom Jones answer)… Hazel Destroy (44) struggle with Brian Darby on the DL. That they got 44 without him indicates they played pretty well… Challenged (50) salvaged a disaster of an evening on #20 and manage to improve their base score for the week. I didn’t think that possible when they had 14 points going into #15…
Alright, scoreboard time!
