Bryan: United takes to the road and sends out a scout team to Plates tonight and nearly come away with the victory. In the end I Got Candy gets the win with 85 points…..remember I Got Candy and their insane 2010 stunt of paying the entry fee and then quitting mid tournament.
United take second with 84 points (+ 6 Bonus Points, and 3 Attendence). 3rd place falls into the collective lap of Ebony and Ivory with 79.
Glass 1/2 Full is also in the house with 59 points and a + 5 in attendence for the night.
Brent: Muffins brings 2 to Canton and pimp slaps everyone, entering #20 with a 29 point lead. A tough final question actually helps ensure their victory, as it wasn’t the kind of question they were prepared to go deep on. The win easy with 93 points (9 bonus, 2 attendance) in impressive fashion.
Southern Posse play safe and smart on #20 and watch 2 teams fall behind them, and jump from 4th into 2nd with a final score of 56 (6 bonus, 7 attn).
As I review my scoresheet, I just stumbled across an error I made with the scores in the game, an error unnoticed by B8shaq at the time. B8shaq entered #20 in 2nd with 65, Shoal Bass with 63. Both went deep for 20 and missed it. However, when I looked at my final scores, my 5 kinda looked like a 3, and I announced both teams had tied with 53. B8shaq didn’t raise any objections to my announcement, so we played overtime, which Shoal Bass won. B8shaq was cheated out of $10 house cash, and if Pops wants, I’ll happily reimburse him, but they will NOT be cheated out of tournament points. They finish 3rd with 55 (3 bonus, 2 attn).
Challenged bring 7 people and turn in their worst game of the tournament with 28. Red brings 3 and scores 40, but actually take home more house cash than anyone when Bryan’s correct answer on the Overtime Dough question nets him $90…
That’s it for tournament teams after a tough night…
Bobby: Very light crowd at Monkey Barrel allow #9, Pabst Playboys, and FMAF the opportunity to duel one another in relative safety for the top 3 spots..
Early on ‘Tinkle Box’ looked to be a factor with a stout 21 point 1st quarter, but that proved to be a false promise and by halftime they were well into their decline.
#9 & Playboys jumped out to the early edge over Air Force, but #10 and a perfect 2nd qtr rectified that as the AF held double digit leads over both tournament teams. #9 looked to be fading before the 3rd qtr bonus and had slipped into 3rd by the end of the qtr, but they managed to drop anchor on #15 and run the table to finish with a 91 & 1st. Playboys will happily take 2nd with 84 (in spite of leaving a few on the field that they KNOW they should have had) and FMAF rely on good early work to limp home with 77 & 3rd.
EIGHT teams have RSVP’d.. That’s an OK start – not good nor bad – just OK. Let’s have that above 15 by the end of business tomorrow. If you’d like to see the RSVPs, there is a thread on the Triviaheads Page that lists them as they become available…
