Atlanta: Bobby Brown are proving to be the tournament’s steadiest Atlanta team. They are a drumbeat of 80s and 90s and 1st and 2nds. A 96 tonight is good enough for 1st ahead of a scrappy United (80) that were well short of full strength. Boston Braves lose what might have been a very high quality number on question #20, but early good work keeps them in 3rd (73).
Also – Kramerica 62 (this was another implosion by Kramerica, who have been as good as anyone in the tournament for 3/4s of every game they’ve played…
Muffins – 44 undermanned, tardy, etc, etc…
Stepdads – 9 left at halftime… This will doom them to the bottom 3 unless they show up Friday, which is unlikely
Canton: A packed house at 8 had 4+ teams standing around waiting for tables when trivia was due to start. Ray-Ray play their best game of the tourney so far, scoring 102 and taking 9 performance points with the win. RR shows how important music can be on #15: With 10 teams & 40 possible answers in the house, I tabulated a grand total of 13 correct responses. Ray-Ray supplied 4 of the 13. When you get over on the house by 16 points like that, you win. Red play a solid game and finish strong with 89 and 2nd. Posse gives up performance points by overbidding on #20, and Challenged continues to find new and fascinating ways to melt down after strong starts (Harry Potter & the Philanderer’s Stone – lol).
Carrollton: What’s My Name throws down 109 + 9 performance, cruising to a win…
